And so another year is upon us...

I hate New Years. I feel that if you wanna go out and party like its 1999.......you can do that whenever you want!! I feel if you need to start with a new outlook on life or plan for life......why not start it on any given Sunday? It just gives people an excuse to delay and procrastinate.

So what did I do on New Years Eve? Well, my Baba had a bunch of her lady friends over for a New Years Party. (my Baba is 86 and she is my inspiration in life) Her and her friends LOVE my coconut shrimp.......so I made a bunch for them and dropped it off. Then my mom and I went out to a nice restaurant for dinner and now I am at home planning out my 11 days that I have left before I leave on my trip. There is so much to do but I think if I balance it out over the days I have left I will get everything I need to get done...done! And I won't forget anything......hopefully.... :)

Now I'm sitting with a cup of tea (and a glass of wine......to balance out the tea), and I'm getting all my checklists in order......its gonna be a very productive 11 days for me!

So Happy New Year! May you do everything you want to do.....whenever you want to do it!

I'm baack..

Why am I back?

My life has dramatically changed in a number of ways since I have last had a presence in the blogging world. I went from being a computer programmer with a successful career and a fixed income to working in a vegan cafe by day....slinging beers and making wings by night. My father passed away 2 years ago now, leaving my families business without its big boss. My brother and I stepped up to take over, and 2 years later...here I am.

Its been a lot of hard work, lots of manual labour that many people would consider is for the uneducated and uncultured. Its amazing how many people I have come into my little ol' country establishment from the 'big city' and treat me as if I've never taken a 10 min drive to Winnipeg before. Little do they know, but I just spare them the explanation...its not worth my time or effort to convince narrow minded people to change their opinion.

The yang to my yin is my job at the Vegan cafe. As much as I enjoy working at my families business, I REALLY enjoy working at the Vegan Cafe. Its calming to me and it has also given me a lot of opportunities to do something that will compliment my new found job working at my families business...One of the opportunities being that I'm going to yoga teacher training in Brazil!

Which brings me full circle...why am I back? To chronicle my experiences in my new life....for myself and to share with anyone else who is interested.
